BMI of Texas is honored to be recognized by our peers and employees for the work we do and the services we provide. Here are some recent accomplishments:
| Dr. Micky Seger is one of the Best Doctors in America for 2011-12. This is the first time that Dr. Seger has earned this prestigious honor, which is only bestowed upon those doctors recognized by their peers to be in the top 3-5% of their specialty. Compiled by Boston-based Best Doctors, Inc., the Best Doctors in America database is the result of an exhaustive survey of more than 45,000 physicians in the U.S. |  |
| Dr. Mickey Seger & Dr. Terive Duperier are certified as an ASMBS Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence (BSCOE). The designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery. The ASMBS BSCOE program was created to recognize bariatric surgery centers that perform well and to help surgeons and hospitals continue to improve the quality and safety of care provided. |

| Our 2 founding partners, bariatric surgeons Terive Duperier and Michael Seger, have repeatedly been named “Top Doctors” in Scene in S.A. magazine’s annual survey of San Antonio’s top doctors. Scene in S.A. magazine staff surveys thousands of physicians in San Antonio, asking them to recommend to whom they would refer their family members. From the responses received, the magazine develops the list of “San Antonio’s Top Doctors,” which was renamed "Best of S.A." in 2012. |   |

Dr. Frank "Terive" Duperier has been named by Texas Super Doctors as one of the top surgeons in San Antonio for 2010. Only 5% of the doctors in Texas are recognized by Super Doctors. Each year, the research team at Super Doctors undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a survey of doctors, independent evaluation of candidates by the research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check. |

| BMI of Texas was recently named one of the “Best Places to Work” in San Antonio by the San Antonio Business Journal. BMI of Texas ranked #2 in the Small Business Category, earning this prestigious accolade just 18 months after the company was founded. |

| Drs. Mickey Seger & Terive Duperier were selected by Ethicon Endo-Surgery as one of the 5 training sites in the U.S. to teach other bariatric surgeons how to optimally perform REALIZE™ Band adjustments. They were among the first bariatric surgeons in the U.S. to utilize the REALIZE band and Dr. Seger has served as a national proctor in teaching other bariatric surgeons how to use the REALIZE band since 2007. BMI of Texas is one of the only practices in the nation that performs fluoroscopic assisted band adjustments in its office. |
