I have Aetna PPO and my request was submitted on Friday. (February 19) I know people who have the same insurance who have already had their surgery and have already been approved so I am optimistic....I am just anxious. Everything else has gone very smoothly and quickly for me. I attended a seminar on November 7, saw Dr. D and Jen on November 12 and finished all my requirements last week. Whew! I am wondering how I will be notified of Aetna's decision? Will my advocate call me? Will I get a letter from the insurance company? And then, assuming I am approved, can I get the surgery date I want? So many questions.....

My advocate emailed me. But with that said, why don't you email them and ask for status. Also, after you are approved it goes to Surgery Scheduler and then you will meet with your dr. one more time and start your 2 week diet... at least thats how it worked for me.. I got my notice on a Friday the following Tuesday I heard from teh Scheduler and met with Dr. S the next day. I have my surgery on Tues.

Good Luck

Hi Jacksgirl! So glad Aetna responded so quickly and that your advocate communicated with you so promptly. We really work hard to get updated information to you as soon as we get it. Wish you the best with your surgery. Keep me posted if you have any problems.

:o Yey again! I received a call from Vanessa this morning. I am all set with a surgery date. And, yes, I did get the date I wanted! What was only a dream 6 months ago has quickly become a reality!

Good Luck Jacksgirl.

I had mine done on 3/2 and so far so good. The hardest part for me has been the diet... but now that I am on soft food its getting easier.

BTW.. avoid the TV.. every other commerical is about food... :D :D
