Incisionless Revision Surgery

With advances in technology, it has become possible to perform certain operations with out making an incision. BMI surgeons are the only surgeons in San Antonio trained to use the Overstitch device. This is a new device made by Apollo Endosurgery that attaches to a scope which is placed down a patient’s mouth and into the stomach. Using this device, BMI surgeons are able to place sutures to shrink a pouch or tighten a connection and help patients with improved restriction and increased satiety.

These procedures are on the cutting edge of surgery and represent a new generation of weight loss surgery options that will be available in the coming years. Intragastric ballon technology, gastric balloon, intestinal barrier bypass sleeves, and endoluminal pouch revision will all be offered at BMI when the technology becomes approved by the FDA.
